Pearl Abyss has introduced a new, highest-difficulty tier to 'Altar of Blood,' the 3-player party defense content in its MMORPG 'Black Desert.' The update also includes balance adjustments and bug fixes across existing illusion stages.
The highlight of this update is the addition of the 'First Abyss Illusion.' Accessible only to adventurers who have cleared the previous highest difficulty, the 21st Illusion, this content demands a high level of mastery. All indicators that previously allowed players to predict monster spawn locations or timing have been removed, so adventurers should proceed with extreme caution. Currently, only one Abyss Illusion is available, with more varieties scheduled to be added in future updates.
Existing illusion stages have also undergone significant changes. The number of monsters appearing in the 1st, 4th, 13th, and 19th Illusions has been reduced. Conversely, the movement speed of the boss 'Coral Naga Vanguard' in the 20th Illusion has been increased by approximately 42.9%.
Numerous bug fixes were also implemented. Issues where the explosion would not trigger when Salun Bear Spearmen approached the relic in the 2nd Illusion, effects remaining after successfully completing the platform pattern in the 18th Illusion, and gimmick-related floor objects failing to disappear in the 21st Illusion have all been resolved. Additionally, collision effects applied to the Tehmulrin Searchers in the 4th Illusion and Cadry Fighters in the 5th Illusion have been removed.
The overall gameplay environment has been improved as well. Terrain that caused players to get stuck in various parts of the Altar of Blood has been fixed, and abnormal methods of accessing restricted areas have been blocked. Issues with the unnatural movement patterns of bosses imbued with eerie energy have been addressed, and the UI has been updated to display attack and defense buff icons below the boss' health bar when they enter a berserk state, making it easier to assess the situation during combat.
