These figures were confirmed in the 2025 annual financial report released on the 23rd by Shunwang Technology (hereinafter 'Shunwang'). Shunwang, an IT company, is the parent company that holds a 100% stake in Shanghai Hanyu Xinheng Exhibition Co., Ltd. (hereinafter 'Hanyu'), the organizer of ChinaJoy. While Shunwang's total operating revenue for 2025 was CN¥1.744 billion (approx. ₩331.3 billion), a 5.18% decrease year-on-year, its net profit attributable to shareholders reached CN¥418 million (approx. ₩79.4 billion), a 65.80% increase compared to the same period last year, driven by profit growth in the exhibition business led by Hanyu.
The profit growth in the ChinaJoy division is attributed to increased global visitor traffic and expanded corporate booth sales. The 22nd ChinaJoy, held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in August 2025, spanned 135,000 square meters and attracted 410,300 cumulative visitors, an 11.8% increase from the previous year. Notably, visitors from outside the region and overseas accounted for 61% of total attendance, with international visitors alone reaching 14,700. This global recognition directly translated into strong financial performance through ticket and booth sales.
However, competition in the offline exhibition market remains a variable for future profitability. Bilibili World, a competing event, drew 400,000 visitors over three days in July 2025 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). This figure is comparable to the 410,000 visitors ChinaJoy attracted over four days. Bilibili World has emerged as a formidable competitor to ChinaJoy, featuring 167 global exhibitors, over 800 'itasha' (character-wrapped vehicles), and more than 30,000 cosplayers.
In response, Shunwang is undergoing a comprehensive restructuring of its exhibition format to defend ChinaJoy's profitability and enhance its competitiveness. Following the introduction of an 'Intelligent Entertainment Robot' zone and an influencer-focused 'Creator Zone' in 2025, the company plans to launch a 'Future Live (Future.Live)' zone for the 23rd event in 2026, which will focus on Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and smart wearable devices.
Additionally, by adding 'Sweet Dimension' themed zones and dedicated photo areas, the company aims to secure stable profits by capturing B2B and B2C demand that differentiates it from other subculture events.
