Kabam, the developer behind the mobile fighting game Marvel Contest of Champions, has announced a series of updates this week that introduce two new playable characters, fresh in-game challenges and preparations for a live tournament event in November.

Eidol Solvarch arrives Aug. 7, wielding the power to freeze opponents with a single touch and absorb energy across the Battlerealm. Later this month, on Aug. 28, players will unlock Cassandra Nova, the psionic doppelgänger born from the dark potential of Professor Charles Xavier’s own mind. Both characters will be available through in-game milestones and special offers.

In parallel with the champion debuts, Kabam has launched the Rebirth Event, running from Aug. 8 to Sept. 3. Participants can earn Rebirth Tokens to acquire powerful seven-star versions of Night Thrasher, Anti-Venom, Doctor Voodoo, Cull Obsidian, Viv Vision and Sabretooth. On Aug. 13, the new Crucible Quest Chapter: Act 8 – The Rebirth challenges players to battle through eight bosses in Normal or Legendary difficulty. A permanent “Mini Crucible” side-quest also opens to Proven-ranked summoners, offering 2- and 3-star champions a chance to face the formidable Ouroboros bosses.

Kabam switches gears for Marvel Contest of Champions

Looking ahead to its live show, Kabam has kicked off Summoners Fest, a realm-wide event running alongside Seasons 30 and 31. Players earn points toward the Battlerealm Brawl 2025 leaderboard, with top finishers in each season qualifying for quarterfinals in Vancouver, B.C., on Nov. 8. Beyond new content and quests, Kabam has overhauled M.O.D.O.K. and Yondu, rebalanced Patriot, and rolled out fixes across Solo Raids, the Fintech Solo Quest and other game systems.
