Team Liquid becomes the second team to qualify for the World Championship Group Stage from the Play-Ins after placing first in Group A with their defeat of Legacy Esports in a final tiebreaker match. Read more on the qualifications here:
INTZ becomes the second team knocked out of Worlds, following the LJL's V3 Esports from Group B yesterday. They played a tiebreaker game against MAD Lions after finding themselves tied for last with a 1-3 record. Read more on INTZ's run here:
As the 2nd seed from Taiwan's Pacific Championship Series, PSG Talon will be randomly selected as the team to round out any group except Group A, which already contains PCS 1st seed Machi Esports. PSG Talon is the first team to escape from the play-in at Worlds 2020.
Winning a head to head will not provide an immediate higher seed, there will still be tiebreakers in the Worlds 2020 Play-In Stage. Read more here on how that will work.
On Friday, September 24, Riot Games released its first Champion Roadmap update for League of Legends since June. The update also included more visuals and information on the upcoming Dr. Mundo VGU.
UPDATE 9/25: In addition to River and Tank, AD carry Wong "Unified" Chun Kit is also currently off the PSG Talon starting roster due to visa delays. Unified will be eligible to play on September 27th, but River and Tank are still in quarantine and will not be eligible to play in the Worlds 2020 play-in. PSG Talon went 2-0 in its first day of the play-in against Rainbow7 and LGD Gaming. Chen "Dee" Chun-Dee, a substitute on Machi Esports, is starting in Unified's place until he is eligible to compete.
