Pretty standart Runes on Thresh, it's good for early kills on your Lane and/or when you roam.

Runes

  • resolve

  • Aftershock
  • Bone Plating
  • Chrysalis
  • Unflinching
  • inspiration
    INSPIRATION
  • Biscuit Delivery
  • Cosmic Insight
Bonus :

+130 Health

Most useful runes in my opinion. There's a huge variety of runes you can pick though.

Aftershock is by far the best rune on Thresh, it brings a lot of damage in lane and later game.
Guardian is not as good as good as Aftershock, but still useful to protect your ADC.
Grasp of the undying- HAHAAAHAHAHHHAH

Demolish isn't necessary since your ADC does a lot of damage to the turret anyway.
Font of life is useful for on-hit ADCs or when your ADC buys Runaan's Hurricane.
Bone Plating is very good against a lot of support matchups (brand for example).

Conditioning is really good on Thresh, though it weakens your laningphase.
Second wind is basically like Doran's shield and should be seen as such.
Chrysalis gives good stats for your lane and lategame.

Overgrowth is very situational, you'll have to sit in lane and follow your ADC like a dog to stack it.
Revitalize is good when you buy relic shield and shield/heal items in general.
Unflinching is really good, because you'll be useing ignite a lot.

Hexflash COULD be good but is very situational.
Mafical footwear is pretty good to catch up people with your high movementspeed.
Perfect Timing is good against dive combs like Alistar or Leona.

Future Market is not really necessary since your items aren't that expsensive.
Minion Dematerializer is only useful if you go relic shield.
Biscuit delivery is in my opinions a go to, it's really good for sustain and gives you a lot of mana back.

Cosmic insight, also a must go, for the 45% CDR.
Approach velocity is really good as well, since you'll be faster when you use your death sentence, flay or your box.
Time warp tonic is only useful in my opinion if you go biscuit dilivery.

Items

Starting Items

  • Ancient Coin
  • Relic Shield
  • Health Potion
  • Health Potion

Decide between Ancient Coin or Relic Shield. You mostly want Coin though since the relic shield's heal is only useful if you take revitalize and are able to lasthit.

Core

  • Knight's Vow
  • Zeke's Convergence
  • Locket of the Iron Solari
  • Boots of Mobility
  • Randuin's Omen
  • Spirit Visage
  • Warmog's Armor
  • Redemption
  • Frozen Heart
  • Control Ward
  • Health Potion
  • Refillable Potion

A Variety of Items that can be use on Thresh to get that sweet sweet 45% CDR.

vs Heavy AD

  • Remnant of the Ascended
  • Knight's Vow
  • Zeke's Convergence
  • Ninja Tabi
  • Randuin's Omen
  • Righteous Glory

Should only be use if the enemy has no (relevant) AP champion.

vs Heavy AP

  • Remnant of the Ascended
  • Knight's Vow
  • Zeke's Convergence
  • Mercury's Treads
  • Spirit Visage
  • Warmog's Armor

You may overcap in CDR but it is still worth it.

Since Death Sentence has been buffed it's not really necessary to max it out right away. In my opinion it's far better to max your Flay since it gives you more damage and more possibilities to peel for your ADC.

  • Notes
Easy
ThreshThresh

You read this guide, he didn't.

Easy
VeigarVeigar

Not that common of a Support, but is fairly easy to hook since he is very vulnerable and inmobile.

Easy
AnnieAnnie

Look Veigar.

Easy
LuxLux

Pretty annoying, dodge her spells and then proceed like against any other support.

Easy
SorakaSoraka

Basically the same for any heal support:
very squishy, easy killable
Soraka though can be hard since she can silence you with her E.

Normal
LeonaLeona

Try to flay her mid air when she engages. It should be pretty easy if you manage to do that.

Normal
SonaSona

Annoying Poke, buy some MR early against her or you will be poked to death.

Normal
VelkozVel'Koz

Similar to Lux but even more annoying. He is very strong when you can't dodge his spells, so try to dance a bit.

Normal
SionSion

Strong engage, try to hook or flay him when he charges his Q.

Normal
ZyraZyra

Be careful for her plants, if you stand still these things can kill you alone.

Hard
FiddlesticksFiddlesticks

Not that common anymore but is still really annoying since he can silence you and constantly poke you with his E.

Hard
BrandBrand

Must.Ban.
He is so strong with his combo and poke, it's really hard to deal with him without a gank.

Hard
ZileanZilean

Fairly strong with his easy to hit stuncombo, you can use his Q though to 'steal' the other ADC's CS by walking into your own Minions.

Hard
MorganaMorgana

Her spellshield is very hard to deal with, but since Thresh doesn't change his direction immediately when he hooks, you can outsmart them by facing the ADC but then hooking Morgana or the other way around.

Hard
PykePyke

He's basically you but with a pinneedle hook and a lot of damage, try to avoid his Q, disengage when you see his W and be careful for his ultimate.

Thresh-The Chain Warden

Introduction

ThreshThresh is an easy to learn, hard to master champion. He has a very high skillcap and needs very good decision making and the ability to read the enemy's mind and predict them. His level 2 power spike is amazing and in mid to lategame he can take a lot picks. He's a lot of fun to one trick and very successful.

The early game

As Thresh your lvl 2 powerspike with Death SentenceDeath Sentence and FlayFlay is very powerful to pick up early kills with IgniteIgnite.

Don't try to be too greedy, Thresh in his early levels is vulnerable since you can't disengage with your The BoxBox yet.

The basic Thresh combo is Death SentenceDeath Sentence into FlayFlay but it can also be done the other way around (btw, don't use your flay and death sentence at the same time to make you hook seem longer, it's stupid, you throw away a lot of damage and utility).

What i like to do as well is FlayFlay the minions away and then use your Death SentenceDeath Sentence to create an unexpected situation.

When you first use your Death SentenceDeath Sentence, e.g. your lvl 2 power spike, always predict a sidestep downwards, they always do it, trust me (except you're playing in lower elo, then you don't have to predict at all).

The moment you become level 6, you gain a lot of utility for engage and disengage, the 99% slow of The BoxThe Box is very strong and is basically a snare. Catch squishy ADCs or Supporters and hook them into your Box.

You can also use a new combo, The BoxThe Box into FlayFlay and/or Death SentenceDeath Sentence.

You should also roam when e.g. your ADC goes to base but you just arrived and have no reason to go back, midlane is always an option, but don't go away for too long or your ADC will be mad, especially in solo queue.

The mid Game

There's not really anything special about the mid game, just go for objectives and use the combos from the early game. Roam a lot and help your teammates if they need help, Thresh is a playmaker.

The late game

As Thresh you need to be constantly looking for plays and picks. It's really easy to catch an enemy who is wandering off. It's also really important to keep up your vision and keep aware of the enemy flashes for possible predictions.

You can place your Control WardControl Wards at a lot of places, for example at the Baron Nashor or the Drake. I also like to place it in the tribushes or the midlane sidebushes.

Stay with you team, especially your ADC since you'll be buying Knight's VowKnight's Vow and Zeke's ConvergenceZeke's Convergence.
