SKT Teddy: "Khan is a player that’s really good when playing aggressively and carries well when given the resources."

On the 17th, in the 2019 LCK Spring Split Day 37 match between Hanwha Life Esports and SK Telecom T1, SKT defeated HLE 2-1. In the match, Park “Teddy” Jin-seong fell with the Vayne pick against HLE’s Jinx, but he delivered stable performance in the following matches and contributed to the team’s victory.

Below is an interview with Teddy.

How do you feel about today’s win?

I was really angry after Game 1, but I feel relieved that I maintained my mental status and played the remaining games well.

What do you think the reason was that you lost Game 1?

Our comp didn’t have the initiative in the mid-jungle fight and we even picked champions that didn’t have the initiative in bot lane as well. The kill we gave up was also a big problem. I was really mad at myself because of that.

In the following two games, you dominated the opponent.

After seeing their picks in Game 1, we thought we should pick the champions that have initiative and play strongly too. I think that worked well.

After the 9.5 patch, there have been more top carry picks and situations.

If the top laner pushes hard, the bot lane just needs to endure the opponent’s pressure safely. Since Khan is a player that’s really good when playing aggressively and carries well when given the resources, it’s convenient for the bot lane.

Do you think the importance of ADCs’ positioning rose?

Champions like Akali, Vladimir etc. which often appear in the upper half are really strong against ADCs. Yes, I do think the positioning is more important than ever.

Are there any champions that hasn’t appeared much recently but are viable?

The champions that immediately come to mind are Caitlyn, Kog’Maw, and Twitch. Picking from them, I would say Kog’Maw. His DPS is way higher than the other ADCs.

Griffin lost two straight games. Do you think you have a chance for first place?

Unless Griffin loses all remaining matches, I don’t think we can end up in first place, so I don’t have hopes for that. What’s more important would be playing well against them if we were to meet during the postseason.

You will be facing SANDBOX. How will you prepare?

Since we lost to them in Round 1, we won’t lose this time. We’ll look through their picks thoroughly and prepare well.

Any last comments?

I’d like to thank all the fans who always cheer for us. We kept winning 2-1 recently; I’ll do my best so that we can win 2-0 in the next match.
