Interview with Gen.G Esports Life: "I will play while having faith in Ruler"

Gen.G Esports defeated SANDBOX Gaming by 2-0 and made it to the 2nd round in the League of Legends KeSPA Cup 2018 on December 24th. The match between Gen.G and SANDBOX was almost like watching their LCK game beforehand; although the result was 2-0, the games themselves were very intense and fun to watch for the fans. Notably, Life, who has made his debut in this tournament, displayed outstanding performance like a true prospective player for the year 2019.

Following is the interview with Life, who had shown amazing teamwork with Ruler.

How do you feel about winning your debut match?

I was very nervous but I am so happy that we won.

You gained your fame through solo ranked games since the latter part of last year. Can you briefly introduce yourself?

I’m aggressive support, and I want to stand at the very top of aggressive supports by playing more aggressive in future. My favorite champion is Gragas. I have the most fun when I’m playing Gragas.

On what did you keep your focus in today’s match?

I wanted to do as usual, safe and making no mistakes.

You will now be meeting KingZone Dragon X. You are on the challenger’s side this time; how do you think the match will turn out to me?

I will play while having faith in Ruler (Laughs).

We heard that Ruler recommended you to take the tryout.

That’s true. I was taking tryouts from several teams back then, and I liked Gen.G the best. I felt that all of the players and coaches were the best.

Your teamwork with Ruler was amazing. If you were to score your teamwork?

Personally, I’d give it 3 out of 10. Both of us think it’s not the perfect teamwork yet. We’re not satisfied.

Your goal for this tournament and the year 2019?

I want to make it to Worlds after winning at the KeSP Cup.

It feels like the gap between powerful and weak teams have reduced than before after the rebuild. No one can know for sure yet but if you were to predict how it will be in the future?

First, I think our teamwork is only 40% yet. We’ve just started so I don’t know exactly but it doesn’t feel like the teams that are thought as weak will absolutely stay that way; this is the same for every team but I think it will be important how they will do in the future.

Lastly, would you like to say anything?

I will try to become a great player by trying hard and getting a lot of experiences.
