GEN Haru: "With a bit of practice, I think I can also play Kai'Sa good enough."

On the 20th of June (KST), in the 2018 LCK Summer Split Day 8 Match 3, Gen.G Esports defeated Hanwha Life Esports 2-1. In the match, Kang “Haru” Min-seung showed good synergy with Song “Fly” Yong-jun and Lee “CuVee” Seong-jin to contribute to the team’s win.

The following is the interview with Haru.

Q. You’re on a 4-game winning streak. How do you feel?

Although we won, I wasn’t fully satisfied with my performance. Since we won Game 1 without much trouble, I thought Game 2 would go easy as well, but they picked a comp that we didn’t have much experience playing against, so we weren’t able to handle it.

Q. Why do you think you were destroyed by Kai’Sa in game 2?

We thought that we were advantageous in the early game. When we fought for Shelly, we thought we would win that fight because their HP situation wasn’t good. We never thought that we would lose that fight that severely.

Q. You’re on a really good roll. Don’t you think you can play Kai’Sa like that as well?

Normally, junglers aren’t that good at Kai’Sa. I think that was possible for Sangyoon because he was really experienced and good at Kai’Sa. With a bit of practice, I think I can play Kai'Sa good enough.

Q. Your synergy with Fly seems to be really good.

The synergy between the two of us is pretty good, but I think that works out well because the whole team is doing really well.

Q. You’re playing a lot better than the last split. What’s your secret?

Before this split started, I exercised a lot. I think my concentration got better because of that so my performance also got better.

Q. Your next opponent is kt Rolster. How do you think it will go?

We’re on a winning streak, but we won’t get careless and do our best to prepare for that match.

Q. Don’t you feel pressure when people have high expectations?

I don’t know about the other players, but I think I get better when people do, so there’s no pressure for me.
