The Epic Games Store exclusivity agreement for the new Soulslike title 'Lords of the Fallen 2,' published by CI Games, has been terminated, opening the door for a potential Steam release.
First unveiled at The Game Awards 2025, the game was originally slated for an exclusive PC release on the Epic Games Store. However, with both companies recently agreeing to end the exclusivity deal, the path is now clear for a future launch on Valve's Steam platform.
The news was first reported by the Polish media outlet Bankier. According to the report, CI Games and Epic Games signed a termination agreement on April 14, effectively ending the multi-year exclusivity contract.
However, this does not signify a complete end to the relationship between CI Games and Epic Games. CI Games clarified, "The execution of this agreement does not affect the existing relationship between the parties, and all other relationships remain in accordance with previous contracts."
The exact reason for the termination of the exclusivity deal has not been disclosed. Nevertheless, this decision is expected to alleviate some of the concerns for users who were hesitant to purchase the game due to its Epic Games Store exclusivity.
Meanwhile, the termination applies only to the PC platform exclusivity agreement; the previously announced plans for console releases remain unchanged. While a Steam store page has not yet been created, it is highly likely that one will appear soon, given the game's scheduled release in 2026.
