Koei Tecmo Holdings recorded ¥88.4 billion (approximately KRW 818.6 billion) in revenue, a 6.3% increase year-over-year, driven by the solid performance of new titles and exceptional asset management.
According to the consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2026 (FY2026, April 2025–March 2026) released on the 27th, the company achieved ¥88.4 billion in revenue, ¥37.2 billion in operating profit, and ¥42.8 billion in net profit. Operating and net profits grew by 15.7% and 13.8%, respectively, maintaining a strong financial trajectory.
Notably, the operating margin rose to 42.0%, up 3.4 percentage points from 38.6% the previous year, maintaining an exceptionally high level of profitability for a gaming company. However, ordinary profit reached ¥57.0 billion, largely due to a one-time gain of ¥18.6 billion from the sale of securities.
Consequently, the guidance for FY2027 (fiscal year ending March 2027) has been set conservatively. While revenue is expected to grow slightly by 1.8% to ¥90 billion, profit categories are projected to see significant declines: operating profit is expected to fall 13.9% to ¥32 billion, ordinary profit to drop 26.3% to ¥42 billion, and net profit to decrease 27.6% to ¥31 billion. This is attributed to the base effect resulting from the exclusion of the large-scale securities sale gains reflected in FY2026.
Financial health remains robust. Total assets increased significantly to ¥313.7 billion from ¥209.8 billion the previous year, and the equity ratio was maintained at 86.7%. Cash and cash equivalents also surged to ¥59.3 billion, 2.6 times the previous year's ¥22.6 billion, largely due to the procurement of approximately ¥32 billion through the disposal of treasury shares.
Meanwhile, alongside the earnings announcement, Koei Tecmo disclosed the cumulative sales figures for its major series. The best-selling series is Dynasty Warriors, with over 24 million units sold, followed by Nobunaga's Ambition and Dead or Alive, each with over 11 million units. The Nioh series surpassed 10 million units, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 9.5 million, Samurai Warriors 8.5 million, the Atelier series 8 million, and the Ninja Gaiden series 7.5 million. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, which was released as a day-one Game Pass title, was reported to have reached over 5 million players rather than unit sales.
