Ahead of its upcoming release on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox, a demo for 'Final Fantasy VII Rebirth' has been released.

It was confirmed today (the 28th) that Square Enix has uploaded the demo to the Nintendo Switch eShop and the Xbox Store. This demo allows players to experience the game up to 'Chapter 2: A New Journey,' and players can continue to explore previous areas as long as they do not enter the Mythril Mine.

Save data from the demo can be carried over to the full game. Additionally, players with demo save data will receive the 'Kupo Charm & Adventure Item Set' in the official version.

Meanwhile, 'Final Fantasy VII Rebirth,' which is now coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox, was originally released on February 29, 2024. As the second installment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake project, the PC version was released on January 23, 2025, with the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox versions scheduled for release on June 3, 2026.

Director Naoki Hamaguchi, who is in charge of the Final Fantasy VII Remake project, has previously stated, "I want to provide all three parts on multiple platforms," suggesting that the final installment will also be available on all platforms.
