In the 2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) regular season Round 1 match held at LoL PARK in Jongno on the 24th, Hanwha Life Esports secured a 2-0 victory over Kiwoom DRX. With this win, Hanwha Life Esports reached a 6-game winning streak and is now set to face the undefeated, 8-0 kt Rolster in the final match of the first round.
Early in Game 1, a skirmish broke out following a counter-jungle attempt by Kiwoom DRX, resulting in a 2-2 kill trade. While Kiwoom DRX saw their mid and jungle secure kills and assists, Hanwha Life Esports found their success in the bottom lane. 'Gumayusi' Lee Min-hyeong’s Caitlyn and 'Delight' Yoo Hwan-joong’s Bard scored a duo kill to pull ahead, and Hanwha Life Esports subsequently leveraged their team composition's mobility to rack up consecutive points and solidify their lead.
Kiwoom DRX’s only hope lay in their accumulated dragon stacks, but they were forced to concede Baron after their top and jungle were caught out while securing their third dragon. Empowered by the Baron buff, Hanwha Life Esports sent 'Zeka' Kim Geon-woo’s Ryze to the side lanes to chip away at outer towers. The well-fed Ryze solo-killed 'Rich' Lee Jae-won’s Jayce and forced 'LazyFeel' Yoo Na-ra to retreat. Kiwoom DRX could no longer withstand Hanwha Life Esports' firepower; after securing consecutive aces, Hanwha Life Esports claimed the victory in Game 1.
Hanwha Life Esports drew first blood in Game 2, but Kiwoom DRX fought back fiercely. Following a successful mid-lane gank and a well-executed counter-jungle play, 'Ucal' Son Woo-hyun’s Mel reached a 3/0/0 scoreline. They also managed to take down 'Zeus' Choi Woo-je’s Gnar, who had been growing well, during a top-lane skirmish, and followed up by catching 'Kanavi's Naafiri. However, Hanwha Life Esports regained their composure and turned the tide by scoring big through ambush plays.
By the 20-minute mark, the global gold gap had widened to over 5,000. Although Naafiri was caught out a few times, the power gap was already too significant. 'Delight's Rell initiated a massive teamfight in front of the dragon pit, and with a deluge of area-of-effect damage from his teammates, Hanwha Life Esports secured a decisive victory, claiming Baron as their prize. After easily neutralizing 'Rich' Ambessa’s flanking attempt, Hanwha Life Esports pushed straight into the base to destroy the Nexus.
