NORSE: Oath of Blood Reveals New Gameplay Trailer, Details PC Pre-Purchase Bonuses and Special Edition

Tripwire Presents and developer Arctic Hazard have released a new gameplay trailer for NORSE: Oath of Blood, a Viking-era turn-based tactics game set in Dark Age Norway. The trailer offers an extended look at combat encounters and the variety of warriors players can recruit as they build and lead a warband.

The footage highlights several unit types central to the game’s tactical layer. These include heavily armored drengrs designed to hold the line and protect allies, lightly armored bogmathrs who rely on ranged attacks to deal damage from a distance, and berserkrs focused on aggressive, high-risk melee combat. The trailer also briefly showcases settlement-focused characters, underscoring how recruitment and village development tie into battlefield success.

NORSE: Oath of Blood follows Gunnar, a young warrior seeking vengeance after his father, Jarl Gripr, is killed and his seat seized by a rival. Players are tasked with rebuilding Gunnar’s settlement, forging alliances, and assembling a capable warband while navigating a narrative shaped by player choices.

Alongside the trailer, Tripwire Presents announced that digital pre-purchases are now available on PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG. The standard edition is priced at $34.99, while a $44.99 Special Edition includes additional in-game items such as the Kievan War armor set and a unique Ulfberht sword. All PC pre-purchases will receive a 15% discount until launch and include Brokkr’s Bearded Axe as a bonus item.

The game is scheduled to launch on Feb. 17. According to the publisher, NORSE: Oath of Blood combines turn-based tactical combat with settlement management and resource oversight. Battles emphasize positioning, terrain, and timing, while non-combat decisions affect alliances, character relationships, and the broader story.

The narrative and setting draw on historical inspiration, with writing by author Giles Kristian and cinematic direction by filmmaker Philip Stevens. The soundtrack features original compositions by Dan Wakefield alongside contributions from neo-folk band Galdorcræft.

NORSE: Oath of Blood has not yet been rated for PC. The publisher expects a Mature (17+) rating from the ESRB and an 18 rating from PEGI for console versions.
