T1's LCK winning streak stopped at 24

On June 29, T1’s long winning streak in the LCK was stopped at last. In their 2022 LCK Summer Split match against Kwangdong Freecs, T1 lost 1-2, and concluded their streak of domestic success. It was the first loss for T1 the year in the LCK, as they are now 4-1 in the Summer Split.

T1’s winning streak began at the start of the 2022 LCK Spring Split. They rewrote history by going undefeated through the split and the playoffs. Their winning streak in the LCK continued early in the Summer Split as they went 4-0 in the first two weeks, reaching 24 consecutive wins.

The 24-match winning streak was a new record, as T1 overtook their own previous record of 23 straight match wins. They headed into today’s match in hopes of extending the unbelievable streak, but it was cut short by Kwangdong Freecs.

Game 1 went in T1’s way quite one-sidedly, but in the following two games, Kwangdong Freecs prepared a pocket pick in Seraphine that hoisted the team to victory. Through the win, Kwangdong Freecs stopped a streak of their own, as they had been on a small loss streak in the season.

Meanwhile, two out of three undefeated LCK teams lost today as DRX and T1 both lost. The only remaining undefeated team in the league is Gen.G, who will face Nongshim RedForce tomorrow.
