The 2017 e-Sports World Championship to be held in Busan, South Korea.

The International e-Sports Federation, also known as IeSF, will be holding the 2017 e-Sports World Championship, the one and only international esports event, from November 8th to 12th in Busan, South Korea.

During the early part of this year, the IeSF announced the opportunity for host city bidding to its various national federations and international sports events hosting companies. The IeSF also chose Busan, a city in South Korea, as its first opening city through the Board meeting held on March 30th.

Every year, Busan has been opening for G-STAR, the global game exhibition, and has confirmed in February that it will be hosting again for the next 4 years. This year, it will be opening G-STAR right after the World Championship from November 16th to 19th, and new esports festival attractions are to be anticipated by citizens and tourists alike.

The International e-Sports Federation will be announcing the official game titles as soon as the discussion regarding the license is finished. Following that announcement, the 46 national federation members of IeSF will select their national representatives. Players chosen by the association of member nations will be entering the tournament with endorsement from the government or national athletics committees.

The world’s one and only international esports event, the e-Sports World Championship, is hosted by the IeSF and sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and this year will be opened for the 9th time. Last year, 400 national players from 37 nations entered in the 2016 e-Sports World Championship, which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The results from that year had South Korea placed 1st and Finland 2nd. We are looking forward to another splendid competition this year as well.
