[UPDATED 11/23] Golden Guardians announce full team, here is the confirmed GG 2021 roster

▲ Source: Riot Games

With the 2021 preseason in full swing, Golden Guardians will need to make big moves to improve on their recurring status of a middle-of-the-pack LCS team. GG started the 2020 Summer Playoffs with potential as they upset TSM in the first round, but a loss to Team Liquid and a reverse sweep by TSM in the lower-bracket rematch ended their run in 5-6th place. All five members of GG were released during the off-season, and all other than Kevin "Hauntzer" Yarnell went to 100 Thieves. GG has to sign five new players, here is their current reported roster.

Golden Guardians
Pos. 2020 2021
Top Hauntzer Niles
Jungle Closer Iconic
Mid Damonte Ablazeolive
ADC FBI Stixxay
Support Huhi Newbie
H. Coach Inero Inero

Confirmed player signings are in green. Confirmed player departures are in strikethrough red. Transfers reported by reputable sources are in purple.

Golden Guardians was reported to be signing former CLG AD Carry Trevor "Stixxay" Hayes and support Leandro "Newbie" Marcos, presently on Latin America's All Knights, into their bot lane for the 2021 season.

The signings would indicate the first moves from Golden Guardians to rebuild their roster from the ground up after parting with every single one of their players just before the official start of the preseason. Of that former line-up, only head coach Nick "Inero" Smith remains.

UPDATE 11/23: Golden Guardians have officially announced their entire roster, confirming Stixxay and Newbie as their bot duo and announcing Aiden "Niles" Tidwell, Ethan "Iconic" Wilkinson, and Nicholas Antonio "Ablazeolive" Abbott as their top side trio. Niles and Iconic hail from Maryville, by far the strongest collegiate program, and Ablazeolive was promoted from GG Academy. GG picked up Niles in the Scouting Grounds Draft.
