It’s a moment that many LCK fans have been waiting for 3 years. DAMWON Gaming took down Suning Gaming in the 2020 LoL World Championship finals, and took back the Summoner’s Cup back to the LCK. Their dominance, which started from the start of the Summer split, was relentless, unstoppable, and unparalleled, and they proved to the world that LCK is once again, the strongest.

After the match, the top and mid laner for DWG, Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon and Heo “ShowMaker” Su, joined Candice after the match to provide their thoughts on the victory.

After three years, LCK finally won the Summoner’s Cup. What does that mean for you?

Nuguri: I… The fact that I’m the forerunner in proving that LCK is the strongest region makes me incredibly happy.

What are some of the things that you have worked on since DWG’s Worlds 2019 run?

ShowMaker: I felt really incompetent when I got knocked out last year. Since then, I worked on how I can be more team-oriented. That hard work really paid off, so we were able to win tonight.

SN makes very unpredictable plays. How’d you manage to keep your calm and beat them?

Nuguri: They were very unpredictable, so rather than trying to predict what they were going to do, we put priority in finding what we can do. They were very tough opponents, as they were relentless in their splitpush and what not. We kept discussing what we can draft against to improve our flaws.

Can you tell us how you dealt with their superb teamfighting?

ShowMaker: Although they did find good angles in teamfights and fought well, we were confident in our teamfighting as well, so we didn’t lose focus and faced them head on.

What would you like to say to your fans?

Nuguri: Neither the fans, nor even I expected us to win Worlds. It’s a great honor to bring back the Summoner’s Cup back to the LCK, and I’ll continue to work hard in the future. Thank you.
