[LCK Today] KT Aiming with 19 kills and a pentakill, soars over SP, DRX defeats HLE

On the 14th (KST), SeolHaeOne Prince took on kt Rolster and DRX played Hanwha Life Esports in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Summer Split.

The first match between SeolHaeOne Prince and kt Rolster was blown within 5 minutes. Starting from a kill in their own jungle, Song “Smeb” Kyung-ho picked up 4 kills in 4 minutes on Wukong. Jeon “ikksu” Ik-su’s Gnar and SeolHaeOne Prince endured well, avoiding fights, but as skirmishes started to occur around the Rift, they started to fall. Although SeolHaeOne Prince put up a good fight, kt Rolster struck like a storm and finished the game.

Although they won the first game, kt Rolster substituted in Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong in place of Kim “bonO” Gi-beom. SeolHaeOne Prince picked Qiyana into their mid lane which was quite effective, but Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram’s Caitlyn was unstoppable. Aiming had the match of his career in this game with an insane 19/0/4 KDA plus a pentakill. There was no way SeolHaeOne Prince could stop Caitlyn. Through this win, kt Rolster kept their hopes up for the playoffs, and SANDBOX Gaming was eliminated.

DRX jungler Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon locked in Lillia for the first time in the LCK. It was Hanwha Life Esports who took first blood through dive in mid lane, but DRX Ryu “Keria” Min-seok was there to clean up the mess, picking up two kills. As DRX also took the first Rift Herald, they went ahead in the global gold. Hanwha Life struck back as top laner, Lee “Dudu” Dong-ju made a super play, killing off Akali and Lillia. However, DRX maintained the global gold lead. As Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon’s Akali picked off the opponent Ashe, DRX killed the remaining and they were able to slay Baron. The game didn’t go long after that point. DRX destroyed Hanwha Life Esports’ Nexus to take the first game.

In game 2, Dudu’s Jayce came off strong against Doran’s Akali. Before 10 minutes, Hanwha Life Esports destroyed the first top turret. Through the priority in top lane, Hanwha Life Esports took the major objectives. DRX hit back at the third dragon. Collecting three kills and also the dragon, they started to turn the game around. The game tilted completely in DRX’s way as they won following teamfights massively. Hanwha Life Esports attempted to come back, but Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon’s Sett was too strong. After an Ace, DRX finished the game, to collect their 14th win of the season.
