LCS/LEC Summer Split Week 3: Best Value Picks

In order to win big in E1 Fantasy, you want to find VALUE! I’m not just talking about getting your money back, I’m talking about getting what you paid for AND some more.

What is value? Well in a perfect world, the highest-priced player at a position would score the most points and so on down; they would all provide value based on their price. We don’t want to be average though, we want more. So we are looking for the players who will score much higher than their price suggests, returning extra value. In order to help you find these value players, we provided two options at each of the six lineup spots; one for LCS and one for LEC (because everything is better with a little NA vs EU rivalry in there).

Top

Kim "Ssumday" Chan-ho — 100 Thieves —  $270,000 (vs Counter Logic Gaming & TSM)

Finally, 100 Thieves’ schedule softens up! After a grueling start to the season, everybody seems to be completely dismissing the apparel company. They may not be better than C9/EG/TL, but they are better than CLG, and it is not hard to see them beating TSM. Do you know how many points Ssumday scored in their lone win? 31.

Felix "Kryze" Hellstrom — Excel Esports — $220,000 (vs FC Schalke 04 & Misfits)

Last week, the golden question was, “Is Rogue this good?” This week, the question is, “Is Excel this bad?” Personally, I vote no and think people need to give them respect. Every team they lost to, they should have lost to. I have to admit, I don’t have reason to be very optimistic about Kryze, but his value comes by being a great price with the best LEC schedule on the week.

Jungle

William "Meteos" Hartman — 100 Thieves — $220,000 (vs Counter Logic Gaming & TSM)

What I said above for Ssumday’s schedule obviously rings true here as well. What encouraged me
most about Meteos’ performance in the lone 100T win was that he Assisted on EVERY one of his team’s 13 Kills, contributing to his Top 4 LCS KP (82.1%). Even dating back to Spring Split, Meteos has only failed to score 20 Fantasy Points in a win twice (2 of 11 games). This week Meteos has a safe win in CLG and then a battle with TSM, the team that just let Santorin score a Summer record-high 46 POINTS on them in the Jungle.

Oskar "Selfmade" Boderek — Fnatic — $300,000 (vs Rogue & G2 Esports)

Rekkles on Soraka was gross. However, it is precisely what you want to see as a Selfmade owner (ideally not resulting in an 0-2 result though). With that comp, FNC wants Selfmade to be a main carry, usually on Graves. If you can get a top LEC-team carry as your Jungler, you do that.

Mid

Tristan "PowerOfEvil" Schrage — FlyQuest — $350,000 (vs Counter Logic Gaming & Golden Guardians)

His price keeps going up, and he keeps giving us reasons to buy him again. POE now has three straight games of 30+ points, all in wins. And who does he play this week? CLG & GG, aka another two wins. FLY has the easiest schedule of the slate, and POE should lead the team in Kills (AGAIN).

Fabian "FEBIVEN" Diepstraten — Misfits — $250,000 (vs Team Vitality & Excel Esports)

This was not the Misfits we were promised!! Sure would be nice to see another dramatic turnaround like we saw in Spring… Who led that turnaround? Febiven. He has the ability to be a monster in fantasy, and with two of the five best fantasy matchups for Mids on tap this week, this is the best chance to remind us of that ability.

Bot

Brandon "MasH" Phan  — FlyQuest  — $290,000 (vs Counter Logic Gaming & Golden Guardians)

I want all the Flyquest I can afford this week. I’m going to assume Mash will be starting after the 2-0 week, but even if they announce that they are going back to WildTurtle, I’ll take him too. FLY has the easiest 2-0 of the week and lead the LCS in Kills as a team, showing that they want to fight their way to victory. Sign me up.

Patrik "Patrik" Jírů — Excel Esports — $250,000 (vs FC Schalke 04 & Misfits)

After starting the season against 4 of the 5 best teams in the LEC, XL finally had a winnable matchup against SK. And what happened? Patrik got 10 kills, 41 Fantasy points, and XL won the match. Now they have two very winnable matchups on the slate this week and are great deals after the early losses decreased their salary. Take advantage while you still can!

Support

Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun  FlyQuest  — $210,000 (vs Counter Logic Gaming & Golden Guardians)

I mean, do I have to talk more about how juicy of a week Flyquest has? Points will be flying all around, and although he doesn’t have the upside of the other members, Ignar should be able to rack up the assists with ease.

Tore "Tore" Hoel Eilertsen — Excel Esports — $110,000 (vs FC Schalke 04 & Misfits)

What full-time LEC player leads all players in Kill Participation? Bingo, it’s Tore. If I have confidence in Patrik, I have to have confidence in his laning buddy. I love the upside of this pairing, but even more, I love the price. I can afford an entire Bot Laner that I feel proud of for $360,000. Upset costs more than that by himself! Upside + Good schedule + Low Price = In My Lineup.

Team

100 Thieves — $250,000 (vs Counter Logic Gaming & TSM)

This all comes down to how much of a TSM fan you are, but mainly which team you think is a ‘better loser.’ The wins of 100 Thieves & TSM have all come off the worst teams in the LCS (maybe even all major regions). All their losses have come to the current Top 4 in the LCS. However, TSM has shown that they are still settling into their new roster, and 100 was just the #2 LCS seed in Spring. It seems like a coin-flip, but a coin-flip with a major payoff.

Excel Esports — $220,000 (vs FC Schalke 04 & Misfits)

It comes with some risk, but I see XL as the sub-$250k with the best chance at a 2-0 week. They are not the bottom-dwelling team that everybody labeled them as after the 0-3 Superweek. They lost to teams better than them. But now they get to play teams they are better than or as good as.
