T1 Ellim on the match against DRX: "I thought that we would surely win because our AD Carry and mid are so stable. It was just a matter of how fast we win.”

T1 shut out DragonX in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Spring Split. T1’s new jungle Choi ‘Ellim’ El-Lim displayed his prowess with Trundle and contributed to the team's victory. After the match, Inven interviewed Ellim to talk about the match against DRX.

How do you feel about the victory against DRX?

Since DRX is one of the Top dogs, I didn’t expect we could win 2-0. All the Teammates played really well.

You have been in the starting lineup of T1 since Round 2. How do you think about playing games in LCK?

I am a rookie in the LCK. I really didn’t expect all things to go well like this way. I just thought I need to go up slowly from the bottom.

What did your coaching staff say before the match?

Since I’m a rookie, I was nervous before the match. Coach Kim Jung-soo always tells me that I need to play actively, not to be passive, and show what I can do. It helps me a lot.

You had a match against DRX. How was it?

I thought that we would surely win because our AD Carry and mid are so stable. It was just a matter of how fast we win.

What kind of jungle are you?

Although I prefer to gank the lanes frequently, it depends on our pick-ban strategy and the situations. Since my team likes to play late-game, I’m trying to fit with my team. I’m learning the way to play the T1 macro game.

You played Trundle twice. What is his strength?

Trundle is so good in the recent meta. He’s good against Ornn, Sett, and even Olaf who appear often and especially against non-mobile champions. I like to play Trundle. He makes the team stable in teamfights. However, I wasn’t satisfied with my performance today because I made several mistakes. I’ll do better next time.

Lastly, a word to the fans?

I didn’t know that I would play the game as a starting member. Thanks to the coaching staff. I’ll be a better player by fixing my mistakes. Please keep cheering for me.
