Red Rover Interactive announced today (the 7th) that it participated in the 'Future Games Show' live from LA ahead of the upcoming playtest for its new extraction shooter, Engineers of the Apocalypse.
'Engine Fall' is a Extraction Shooter set aboard the massive train known as the 'Titan.' Players must board the moving train with their allies, navigating from the cramped tail cars to the luxurious first-class cabins and the heavily guarded engine room to survive and grow. The core objective is to scavenge resources, engage in combat, build a base, and climb the ranks from a tail-car passenger to a conductor. Once players have secured their equipment, they can safely extract via a 'Dagger Shuttle' to prepare for their next raid.
The game is designed as a 'social multiplayer sandbox' that centers on interactions between human enemies and allies. Players can defend temporary bases with friends or clash with others over key objectives; whether to cooperate or conflict with the users they encounter is entirely up to the player.
A flexible crafting system adds further depth. Players can freely craft weapons, armor, and structures using resources scavenged from within the train, allowing them to adjust their equipment to fit the situation rather than being tied to fixed loadouts. Additionally, players can transform their 'Dagger Shuttle' escape craft into a customized mobile fortress—complete with sleeping quarters, workshops, and artillery bays—and defend it against raids from rival crews.
'Engine Fall' will hold a global playtest from the 8th to the 22nd to assess the game's polish and gather user feedback. More detailed information about the game and how to sign up for the playtest can be found on its Steam page.
