Dplus KIA defeated Gen.G 2-0 in their 2026 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) regular season Round 1 match held at LoL PARK in Jongno on the 10th. Despite a staggering 21-match losing streak and years of repeated collapses against Gen.G over the past five years, Dplus KIA showcased superior performance in every aspect today to secure the victory.
The following is the full interview with Jeon 'Siwoo' Si-woo, who was named Player of the Match (POM) for the series against Gen.G.

Q. How does it feel to finally beat Gen.G after five years.
We had been on an incredibly long losing streak against Gen.G. I imagine it must have been very difficult for our fans as well. I'm just so happy that today was the day we finally broke that streak.
Q. This was also your first personal victory against Gen.G.
I always wanted to beat them whenever we faced Gen.G, but I never expected it to happen today. It feels amazing to win like this. When I heard the fans cheering after the match, I was completely overwhelmed with emotion. I almost teared up.
Q. What do you think was the driving force behind your 2-0 victory today.
I felt like we were going to win from our practice yesterday right up until the match today. I think the top-lane carry I envisioned actually played out.
Q. Your teammate 'ShowMaker' Heo Su has also been through that long losing streak. How did he react to today's win.
I hugged Heo Su right after the game ended, and it was a very touching moment.
Q. The Ryze-Pantheon combination had been on a 3-game winning streak. Why did you let the opponent have it in Game 1?
During the pick-ban phase, we decided that Pantheon was unavoidable, and we planned to counter Ryze with Anivia.
Q. You looked great on Gnar in Game 1. Gnar is currently on a 9-game winning streak in the LCK.
While watching the earlier matches, I thought, 'Gnar is on a 7-game winning streak, isn't he a broken champion?' Lane swaps have disappeared lately, and aside from one or two specific champions, Gnar has a lot of side-lane pressure as long as you have the proficiency. That's why I think he's good.
Q. What did you focus on to close out the game in Game 2.
Given the nature of the opponent's composition, I knew it would be difficult for us if we got flanked or caught from behind. So, I focused on managing the side lanes as much as possible to apply pressure.
Q. Any words for your teammates who worked so hard today?
Our coaches and director did an amazing job with the pick-ban, which allowed us players to play comfortably. I think all five of us performed at a level worthy of a POM. I'm happy and excited for what's to come because we won by playing well together.
Q. Lastly, please share a word with the fans who have silently supported you until today's victory.
It must have been tough for you all because of our long losing streak against Gen.G, so I'm so happy we could break it today and see everyone smiling. I'm happy about today's win, but I won't get arrogant. I'll make sure to review our shortcomings and perform well in the remaining matches to achieve good results. Thank you.
