'Corsair Cove,' a new pirate-themed city builder developed by Limbic Entertainment and published by Hooded Horse, officially launched on Saturday, August 1st, and is now available on INVEN GAMES.
Set during the twilight of the golden age of piracy as the Royal Navy attempts to wipe out pirate strongholds, the game challenges players to establish and expand a pirate den on a deserted island. It features a vertical construction system that utilizes cliffs and hills rather than just flat surfaces, allowing players to build complex production lines using bridges, ziplines, and elevators to transport nearly 50 different types of goods.
A key strength of 'Corsair Cove' is that it goes beyond mere settlement management, incorporating exploration content where players assemble fleets to set sail. The island is not just the player's base; other factions exist as well, meaning the base can come under attack, and players can send ships to discover new locations, events, and treasures.
Players must supply the needs of their pirates—such as grog, clothing, eyepatches, and sabers—to grow their population, while also building and arming ships to defend the island against the Royal Navy. Progression is tracked through four distinct metrics: Notoriety, Empire, Seafaring, and Wealth, with each path unlocking unique quests and content.
The demo released last May received 'Overwhelmingly Positive' reviews on Steam, building significant anticipation. Pre-release reviews have also praised the game's dense environmental design, vertical construction system, and progression structure. 'Corsair Cove' is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store) and is playable on day one via Xbox Game Pass.
Meanwhile, 'Corsair Cove' is now available for purchase on INVEN GAMES, with a 25% discount offered for two weeks starting from the August 1st launch date.
