Samsung Electronics has begun its full-scale 'AI Transformation (AX)' by integrating generative AI across its operations.

Samsung Electronics' Device eXperience (DX) Division announced that it would officially introduce external generative AI services for its employees starting the 12nd. Consequently, DX Division staff will be able to utilize major global generative AI services, including ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, within the workplace.

A key feature of this rollout is that it does not rely on a single service; instead, it allows employees to select from various AI tools based on the specific nature and purpose of their tasks. Samsung aims to boost productivity and operational efficiency by creating an environment where employees can utilize the AI tools best suited for their respective roles.

To this end, Samsung previously conducted a pilot program with approximately 2500 employees to verify the effectiveness of various external generative AI candidates, ultimately selecting ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude for official adoption.

Through this initiative, Samsung plans to improve work productivity, accelerate decision-making, strengthen organizational execution, and ultimately enhance the business competitiveness of its DX Division.

Beyond simply providing AI tools, the company is pursuing an 'AX' strategy to shift the entire organization's workflow toward an AI-centric model. The goal is to strengthen global market competitiveness and provide customers with superior product and service experiences.

Roh Tae-moon, President and Head of Samsung Electronics' DX Division, stated, "The introduction of external generative AI is not merely about adding new work tools; it is a starting point for fundamentally changing how we work and the speed at which we execute. By creating an environment where any employee can utilize the most suitable AI for their tasks, we will go beyond individual productivity to enhance the execution power of the entire organization and elevate the competitiveness of the DX Division to the next level."

Meanwhile, Samsung plans to continuously refine its AI services and operational policies to reflect the characteristics of various job functions and departments, ensuring that generative AI is utilized effectively in real-world work environments.
