Bulkhead unveiled a gameplay trailer for its upcoming next-generation tactical shooter, 'Wardogs,' at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase held today (the 7th).
'Wardogs' is a FPS inspired by 'King of the Hill,' a popular objective-capture mode in the West. Set on a vast 256-square-kilometer map, up to 100 players are divided into three teams that battle fiercely over randomly designated capture zones. The team that maintains the most personnel within a zone earns points, and the first to reach 100 points wins.
Players join as mercenaries assigned to a team. You start with $10k and earn rewards for tactical actions, such as eliminating enemies or supporting allies. Upon respawning, you return to the mercenary camp, where you must use your accumulated funds to purchase equipment before re-entering the battlefield. Beyond personal firearms, you can purchase various assets like Humvees, helicopters, and tanks at the camp to gain a tactical advantage. Since your remaining funds carry over to the next match, managing your investments based on the flow of battle is crucial.
The game also features a variety of destruction mechanics designed to create an immersive, large-scale modern warfare experience. The trailer showcases scenes such as shelling enemy hideouts to destroy them entirely or using tank fire to demolish watchtowers. Strategic depth is further enhanced by a building system that allows players to establish outposts at key locations. Additionally, in-game communication is based on local voice chatting, encouraging teammates to discuss tactics and cooperate in real time.
'Wardogs' is scheduled for an Early Access release later this year, and beta tester recruitment is currently underway. More information can be found on the official website.
