'UN:Me,' a game about identifying the true soul among four that all claim to be the original, is coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 following its release on Steam.
During the 'The MIX Summer Game Showcase 2026,' held as part of Summer Game Fest, SHUEISHA GAMES unveiled a new trailer for 'UN:Me,' developed by Historia. The trailer intercuts scenes of the protagonist, a young girl, with the bizarre elements scattered throughout the game. The content is consistently unsettling, effectively conveying the title's unique, eerie atmosphere.
'UN:Me' is set within the mind of a girl who wakes up in a labyrinth. Four voices—the souls of humans wandering the maze—echo in her head, each vying to take over her body to satisfy their own desires. These souls take turns possessing her regardless of the player's intentions, and the anxiety and fear harbored by each soul are amplified into unique forms of horror. Because the player's vision, senses, and movement shift depending on which soul is in control, the experience of terror changes every time, even within the same labyrinth.
The dialogue system will also be a key element. Each of the four souls possesses its own personality, memories, and emotions, and all claim to be the true owner of the body. Players must collect memory fragments and items scattered throughout the labyrinth to engage in dialogue, using clues like lies, stutters, and evasive behavior to weed out the imposters. The trailer highlights this with the girl's eerie, unnatural movements, which are far from those of an ordinary person.
Takuya Yamanaka, who led the 'Caligula Effect' series, is in charge of the game's planning and scenario. His history of tackling trauma and psychological complexes head-on is expected to continue in 'UN:Me.'
'UN:Me,' which was announced only for Steam during 'Day of the Devs 2025: The Game Awards Edition' last December, now plans to bring its horror to a wider audience with the addition of PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. However, no specific release date beyond 2026 has been announced.
