Bandai Namco Entertainment Korea (General Manager Jang Tae-geun) is now accepting applications for the console division online qualifiers of the 'Taiko no Tatsujin Korea Championship 2026 Kung-Tak.' This tournament will integrate both console and arcade divisions.
The console qualifiers will be held using the Nintendo Switch title 'Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival.' Participants must play the designated songs 'Yumeutsutsu Catharsis' (★8) and 'FUMA Module 6,768' (★9), record a video that includes both the gameplay screen and the controller being used, and upload it to YouTube.
The use of Taiko controllers, drum sticks, and Joy-Cons is permitted, though touch controls are excluded. Rankings will be determined by the combined score of the two designated songs, with the top four players advancing to the finals. The tournament is open to South Korean nationals residing in the country; minors require parental consent.
The application deadline is May 5 at 23:59. The live finals will take place on May 23 on the main stage of 'PlayX4 2026' at KINTEX in Ilsan. The finals will feature four qualifiers from the console division and eight from the arcade division, with all matches played in a single-elimination tournament format.
Finalists will receive an exclusive in-game title for the arcade version and a plaque signed by the development team for the console version. Additionally, participants and on-site spectators will receive limited-edition name tags based on their performance. BANDAI NAMCO is also running a digital name tag sharing event for qualifier participants.
Participants who post the digital name tag image received after registration on social media with the designated hashtag and verify it at the finals venue will receive one of two limited-edition Taiko no Tatsujin merchandise items on a first-come, first-served basis
