Red Bull Wololo: Londinium has sold out ahead of its April 1st-6th tournament dates, with the Age of Empires event set to culminate at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
According to a release, the eighth edition of Red Bull Wololo will feature competitions in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires IV, with a combined $250,000 (~£193,000) prize pool on the line. The grand final at Royal Albert Hall will also feature a 60-piece live orchestra performing music from the Age of Empires soundtrack.
The event’s final is notable because, according to Red Bull, it marks the first time an esports event has been hosted at the venue.
Red Bull Wololo has previously staged events at locations such as Heidelberg Castle in Germany and El Reinado in Spain. This year’s edition will bring a field of players including Hamzah ‘Hera’ El-Baher, Dimitry ‘Vinchester’ Smirnov, Alexis ‘MarineLord’ Eusebio and Juan ‘Vortix’ Moreno Duran.
All maps used at Red Bull Wololo: Londinium will also be new for the tournament. According to the release, the battlegrounds will later be added to the game as official Age of Empires maps.
