Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME has added a new ★5 playable character, [Unbridled Curiosity] Suited, alongside a limited-time mini special event offering more than 1,000 Dimensional Crystals and other in-game rewards. According to a release, the update was announced on March 15th and introduced Suited to the game’s playable roster, along with her associated ★5 weapon, HM-Eporhtnacyl.

Suited is described as the head of Suited Technical Lab (STL), an anti-Kaiju weapon developer, and as one of the more eccentric characters within CLOZER. According to the release, the character is heavily driven by intellectual curiosity and is known for showing a strong fascination with Kaiju. The new unit’s optimal weapon type is a hammer.

In addition to the character launch, publisher and developer Akatsuki Games rolled out a new mini special event titled Suited’s Devotion☆. According to the release, the event followed Suited and protagonist Kafka on a walk through the city, with players able to clear a short story and quests to unlock rewards.

Those rewards included a new Home background, more than 1,000 Dimensional Crystals and additional titles. Akatsuki Games noted that the event ran for a shorter period than standard special events.

Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME continued its post-launch content rollout

Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME is co-produced by Akatsuki Games, TOHO and Production I.G, with Akatsuki Games also handling development, operations and distribution.

The free-to-play title is available on the App Store, Google Play Store and Steam, and supports Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean and French. The update marked another content drop tied to the wider Kaiju No. 8 franchise, which originated as Naoya Matsumoto’s manga series. According to the release, the manga had surpassed 19m copies in circulation, including digital editions, as of September 4th, 2025.

The anime adaptation’s first season aired from April to June 2024, followed by a theatrical compilation release in Japan on March 28th, 2025. Its second season then aired from July to September 2025. According to the release, production of the franchise’s Final Chapter and an original short animation titled Narumi’s Week at Work had also been announced.

For Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, character-led limited-time events such as Suited’s Devotion☆ formed part of the title’s ongoing live-service strategy, as publishers continued to use new units and themed stories to encourage player retention after launch.
