KT Rolster mid laner Gwak Bo-seong, known in-game as Bdd, has been named the 2025 Player of the Year, earning the first such honor of his career after a season-defining run in Korea’s top League of Legends competition.
The award was announced Friday by Riot Games, which operates the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK). Gwak received the Player of the Year trophy at the 2025 LCK Awards ceremony in Seoul, where he also won the Best Moment Award, making him a two-time winner on the night.
Gwak edged out a field that included some of the most accomplished players in the game, among them Lee Sang-hyeok of T1 and Jeong Ji-hoon of Gen.G. The recognition capped a year in which Gwak was widely credited as the driving force behind KT Rolster’s deep postseason run.
Historic Run for KT Rolster
KT Rolster’s campaign included a dramatic 3–2 victory over Gen.G in the second round of the LCK playoffs, a result that secured KT a place at the World Championship. The team later defeated Gen.G again in the semifinals to advance to the organization’s first-ever World Championship final. Although KT ultimately lost to T1 in a five-game series, Gwak’s performance throughout the playoffs drew consistent praise.
As Player of the Year, Gwak received a prize of 10 million won (approximately $7,500). His Best Moment Award came from an emotional scene following KT’s qualification for Worlds, when he was seen in tears on stage.
Other major honors were also distributed at the ceremony. Rookie of the Year went to Diable of BNK FearX, while Gen.G head coach Kim Jeong-su earned Best Head Coach. Gen.G players dominated several categories, with the team placing all five members on the All-LCK First Team and Chovy collecting both Regular Season MVP and Most Player of the Match honors.

Position awards were given to Kiin (top), Oner (jungle), Chovy (mid), Gumayusi (bottom), and Keria (support). Additional sponsor-backed awards recognized individual statistical achievements across the season, while a newly introduced Sportsmanship Award was presented to Faker.
Speaking after the ceremony, Gwak said the season marked a turning point in his confidence. “If you keep working hard and trust yourself, a good day will come,” he said, adding that his goal next year is to win a championship alongside his teammates.
The LCK will open its 2026 season with a Season Opening event scheduled for Jan. 9.
