Electronic Arts and Capital Games have outlined plans for the 10th anniversary of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, marking a major milestone for the long-running collectible turn-based strategy game. The developers, working in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, revealed new content set to roll out on Nov. 18 for mobile and PC players.

Launched in 2015, Galaxy of Heroes has remained a staple of Star Wars gaming on mobile, consistently ranking on app charts and amassing more than 100 million downloads across the App Store, Google Play and the EA App, according to EA. The upcoming anniversary update aims to refresh the experience for both returning and new players with new gameplay modes, characters and accessibility improvements.

Coliseum Mode Headlines the Anniversary Update

A centerpiece of the 10-year celebration is the addition of the Coliseum, a mode the studio describes as a large-scale arena designed around spectacle and high-stakes combat. Inspired by in-universe Star Wars entertainment and classic arena-style storytelling across film and TV, the new mode is set on Batuu — the same planet featured in Disney Parks’ Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Players will face towering enemy encounters including a Pirate AT-ST, a Jotaz, a Tomb Guardian and a Dryax.

The anniversary update also brings seasonal content, new challenges and the return of several prominent characters to what the game calls its “holotables.” Players assemble squads of iconic heroes and villains — such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Grandmaster Yoda and Chewbacca — to battle across Star Wars locales and storylines.

Long-requested character variants will debut during what the studio is calling the “Season of Anniversary.” Among the additions are Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper disguise, a dual-unit pairing Yoda and Chewbacca, and a version of Darth Vader described as “Duel’s End.”

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes remains free to download on the App Store, Google Play and the EA App. The anniversary content is scheduled to go live on Nov. 18. Players can find additional details on the game’s official website and social channels, including YouTube, X, Instagram and Facebook.
