Esports and entertainment powerhouse G2 is bringing its football team, G2 FC, back to Kings League Germany for a second season. After finishing third in its debut season and qualifying for the Kings League World Cup, G2 FC aims to build on its early success with renewed leadership and a refreshed roster.

Founded in 2022 by former FC Barcelona and Spain defender Gerard Piqué, Kings League has reimagined football with a fast-paced, seven-a-side format. The German edition launched its second season Oct. 12 at MMC Studios Cologne, featuring eight teams split into two groups. Matches will run through November, culminating in the Final Four on Nov. 15. The winner will advance to the European Final in Berlin on Nov. 22, facing top teams from Spain and Italy.

G2 FC quickly captured attention in its first season, ranking as the second most-watched team in Germany, according to Esports Charts. Known for its blend of performance and storytelling, the club reflects G2’s broader mission to merge esports, entertainment, and traditional sports.

Returning to lead the squad are Team Manager Ron Stublla and Head Coach Malik Hadziavdic, both of whom bring experience from German futsal and youth football. They will be joined by new club presidents Mohammed “MoAuba” Harkous, a world champion EAFC player and five-time German champion, and Konygebony, a German rapper and lifestyle influencer. Veterans Tarik Haadziavdic, Kevin Moreira, Ahmed Omeirat, and Cihan Ucar will return alongside new recruits selected through Berlin-based trials.

The 2025 season coincides with G2’s 10th anniversary, marking a decade of growth into a global esports leader. The organization maintains partnerships with brands including Mastercard, Red Bull, Ralph Lauren, Jägermeister, and Herman Miller. A recent Esports Bund Deutschland survey found that 46.33% of German esports fans name G2 as their favorite team.

G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte said the team’s debut “demonstrated the potential of combining esports and traditional sports,” adding that Season 2 will focus on fan engagement and digital innovation. With a solid foundation, new leadership, and an ambitious vision, G2 FC is positioning itself for another competitive and creative campaign in Kings League Germany.
