Gen.G Esports celebrated a historic victory at the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational by defeating T1 in the finals, and both support player Joo "Duro" Min-kyu and AD carry Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk took the opportunity afterward to reflect on their journeys, the team’s achievement, and their gratitude toward fans and staff. Duro revealed that he settled on Pyke because the other available champions felt too unreliable against a Caitlyn–Karma lane, and he wanted to pursue a game-changing play rather than risk being outmatched by a more conventional pick.
Reflecting on his personal development, Duro emphasized that his success is a collective effort: he credited his coaches and veteran teammates for guiding him to this point, noting that he owes much of his improvement to their support and mentorship. When considering how he hopes to be remembered, he invoked the legacy of Hong "MadLife" Min-gi, aspiring to accumulate the same level of impact and renown in the support role that the legendary player achieved.
In addressing the fans, Duro acknowledged the team’s turbulent path since the LCK Cup, admitting there were many challenging moments along the way. He expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering encouragement from supporters, as well as the meticulous care provided by Gen.G’s staff, coaching team, and fellow players, and pledged to carry this momentum into the World Championship.
Ruler, who now holds MSI titles with two different organizations across separate regions, shared that the accomplishment has increased his confidence, though he still feels driven to further prove his capabilities. He described an overwhelming sense of happiness at adding another trophy to his cabinet and reiterated that his ongoing goal is to maintain a winning standard in every tournament.
He also extended heartfelt thanks to the fanbase, stressing that their continual support has been indispensable to his career. Ruler promised to continue striving for excellence in future matches and asked for fans’ continued encouragement as Gen.G pursues more international success.
