The Apex Legends™ Global Series (ALGS) will return to the Esports World Cup stage in Riyadh from July 10–13, featuring 40 top squads competing for a share of the $2 million prize pool. As one of the marquee titles on opening weekend, the Midseason Playoffs will pit teams from the Americas, EMEA, APAC North and APAC South against one another in pursuit of ALGS glory.

The event opens with Pool Play, dividing entrants into two groups of 20 that each contest a 10-match slate. Cumulative point totals will determine seeding: the top seven in each group advance directly to the Match Point Finals, while those finishing eighth through 17th enter a Last Chance Semifinal round. The lowest three in each pool will be eliminated from contention.

In the Last Chance Semifinals, 20 teams will again battle through 10 matches, with only the six highest-scoring squads progressing to join the prequalified field. The final 20 teams then face off under the ALGS Match Point format—where elimination hinges on finishing positions in each round—until one roster claims the Midseason Playoffs championship.

Strategic depth will be tested via POI Drafting and rotating Legend Bans. After each game, the most-picked Legend will be removed from availability for the remainder of that series, encouraging teams to diversify their lineups and adapt on the fly.

Broadcast talent for the Riyadh finals includes veteran shoutcasters Barney, Raynday, GlitterXplosion and JHawk alongside analysts Snip3down, Gaskin, Onset, VikkiKitty, Jamerson and Lace. Coverage will stream live on the Apex Legends Esports channels on Twitch and YouTube, with a multi-view option available on FACEIT Watch.

This Playoffs installment follows the landmark ALGS Open, which welcomed nearly 160 teams to its inaugural LAN and saw 100 Thieves rack up 109 points en route to a standout performance, while Team Falcons forged an elimination-bracket run to secure their first trophy. With a recently announced multi-year championship partnership in Sapporo set to carry through Year 6, the Midseason Playoffs stand as a pivotal moment in ALGS Year 5.
