Gravity launched a collaboration between its PC MMORPGs 'Ragnarok Online' and 'Ragnarok Zero' and 'Kumamon,' the official mascot of Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, on the 16th. The collaboration will run until May 14, featuring event content for users with a base level of 100 or higher.

During the collaboration, Kumamon will appear in the game as an NPC and as a costume. Players can find Kumamon NPCs in Prontera and Lasagna in Ragnarok Online, or in Prontera in Ragnarok Zero, to travel to a special map that recreates Kumamoto Prefecture. On this map, players can complete two daily quests by following the Kumamon NPC.
The first quest, 'Kumamoto Farm Experience,' involves talking to the Valmont NPC and harvesting watermelons and tomatoes. Completing it rewards players with two Kumamoto Watermelons and two Kumamoto Tomatoes, and the first completion also grants a 'Kumamon Hat' costume item. The second quest, 'An Eye-Opening Taste,' is initiated through the Watermelon Poring NPC; players must find and collect hidden watermelons and tomatoes scattered across the Kumamoto map to receive the same buff items.
The buff items, Kumamoto Watermelon and Kumamoto Tomato, each provide effects lasting 15 minutes. The Kumamoto Watermelon increases physical and magical damage dealt to normal and boss-type monsters by 10%, while the Kumamoto Tomato increases physical and magical damage dealt to all monster races by 10%. Further details regarding the collaboration can be found on the official websites for Ragnarok Online (ro.gnjoy.com) and Ragnarok Zero (roz.gnjoy.com).
