Team Liquid is teaming up with UNICEF to spotlight the child rights agency’s work through gaming, the global esports organization announced Friday. The partnership aims to raise funds and awareness for children worldwide through charity streams, in-game activations and community events, with a particular focus on Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
The collaboration debuted during the Intel x Team Liquid World Tour stop in London, where Team Liquid founder and Co-CEO Victor Goossens said UNICEF’s mission aligns naturally with the organization’s belief in gaming as a force for opportunity.
“As a teenager, gaming taught me about new cultures, helped me develop work ethic, and gave me a goal to strive toward,” Goossens said at the event. “Bringing these opportunities to young people is part of our mission, and we are honored to partner with UNICEF to support children worldwide in reaching their full potential.”
Bringing UNICEF’s Mission to Gaming Audiences
Both organizations say the partnership leverages their respective strengths: Team Liquid’s access to young, digitally native audiences and UNICEF’s global expertise in child rights, digital safety and inclusive education. By combining efforts, they aim to empower young players in the spaces where they gather to play, watch and learn.
For Team Liquid, the initiative builds on years of community-focused programming. The team has previously worked with youth organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of America, hosted esports events for schools and developed workplace gaming activations for companies including IMC. UNICEF, meanwhile, sees the collaboration as a way to engage a rapidly growing global audience in advocacy and fundraising for vulnerable children.

On Nov. 20, World Children’s Day, Team Liquid creators will launch a two-week charity streaming campaign as the first activation of the partnership. Additional elements, including in-game integrations tied to UNICEF’s work, will be announced later.
“We are excited to partner with Team Liquid to mobilize their esports and digital communities,” said Sebastien Lyon, Chief of Corporate Partnerships for UNICEF. “Together, we aim to inspire a generation of young people and empower them to transform awareness into impact in support of every child.”
Team Liquid and UNICEF are encouraging fans to follow the organization’s social channels for updates as the campaign rolls out. UNICEF does not endorse any brand, product or service.
