Riot Games said Wednesday that three South Korean squads—Gen.G, DRX and T1—have punched their tickets to the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Pacific Stage 2 playoffs following Week 3 action at the SOOP Coliseum in Sangam-dong, Seoul.

Gen.G and DRX emerged from the so-called “group of death,” the Alpha Group, as the first teams to clinch playoff berths. Both sides completed spotless 3–0 records after sweeping their Week 3 opponents. Gen.G opened with a commanding 13–3 victory over Team Secret on Lotus before closing out Ascent 13–8, vaulting to three straight wins. A night later, DRX downed Rex Regum Qeon in dramatic fashion: the first map on Bind went to overtime, where DRX prevailed, and they followed with a 13–5 win on Icebox—led by Jet specialist Song "HYUNMIN" Hyun-min’s five double-kills and four triple-kills.

Nongshim RedForce kept its playoff hopes alive by defeating Global Esports 2–1 in their Alpha Group finale. Park "Ivy" Sung-hyeon recorded 21 kills on Corroded to claim map one, while Kim "Francis" Mu-bin and Lee "Dambi" Hyuk-kyu combined for 48 kills on map two to extend RedForce’s record to 2–2 and set the stage for a decisive Week 4 clash against Gen.G.

In the Omega Group, T1 suffered a 0–2 loss to Talon Esports—falling 10–13 on Haven and 6–13 on Lotus—but still secured at least fourth place and a playoff berth when Detonation FocusMe upset Boom Esports on Aug. 2. T1’s resilience underscores the depth of talent in the Pacific region as the regular season enters its final week.

Valorant, Riot Games’ 5-on-5 tactical shooter, has quickly become a global esports staple since its 2020 debut. The VCT Pacific circuit leads into international Masters and Champions events, with regional leagues feeding into the franchise system.
