After six years, fans of the Street Fighter series have a new title to look forward to. During the PlayStation State of Play on June 6, developer Capcom announced that a new title will be entering the sequence: Street Fighter 6.

In a three minute long trailer, the first glimpses of Street Fighter 6 are teased. Iconic characters such as Chun-Li and Luke make their return once more, beating the crap out of their opponents. A new character, named Jamie, appears to use the "drunken fist" style of combat, which would make it the first fighter in the game's history to battle in that fashion.

Stylistically, the game leans into a colorful expression. Blasts of pink, yellow, and blue paint burst out of characters when they're struck, giving a comic book feel to the game.

What caught most people's eye, however, is the open world setting Capcom teases in the trailer. A neutral-looking character is seen freely wandering around a place called Metro City, exploring the environment and taking on fighting challenges with random people on the street.

No release date has yet been given for Street Fighter 6.
