While Hearthstone players around the world anxiously wait to find out what Blizzard Entertainment has in store for Hearthstone in 2020, Hearthstone's developers are offering something to ease the pain. A total of 11 free card packs are up for grabs by merely logging in before March 17, and completing a set of special daily quests in the Spirit of Competition event.

Upon logging in, players are rewarded with two Rise of Shadows card packs, two Saviors of Uldum card packs, two Descent of Dragons card packs and the Year of the Dragon card back. Then, after completing a set of special daily quests, players can earn another Descent of Dragon card pack, plus two card packs of both Rise of Shadows and Saviors of Uldum.

With the Spirit of Competition event, two special Tavern Brawls make a reappearance. In the Burndown Brawl, each player is given a random deck. Whoever loses gets their opponent's deck for the next battle, and can test whether they were masterfully outplayed, or whether the deck they had was just straight overpowered. It's probably always the latter one, right? The second Tavern Brawl returning is Hall of Champions, where you get assigned a deck used by Hearthstone players who have won the most prestigious events. It has been updated to include the decks used by Hearthstone World Champion Casper "hunterace" Notto, and Hearthstone Global Finals champion Xiaomeng "Liooon" Li.
