Black Desert Online selected as the Best of Show Winner at Brasil Game Show 2017

With the game’s South American publisher RedFox Games, Black Desert Online (developed by Pearl Abyss) had participated in the Brasil Game Show 2017, the biggest game show in South America.

The BGS 2017 was held for 5 days, from Oct 11th to the 15th, in São Paulo, Brazil. The 10-year-old event is the biggest game show in South America where 0.3 millions of people are participating in the event every year.

In the event, Black Desert Online was selected as the BGS 2017 Best of Show Winner, which is an award only given to the game with the most impressive booth management throughout the event.

Black Desert Online’s booth was designed to provide an environment where participants can freely try out the game. The booth also introduced some new in-game features for current players, and gained popularity among both new and current players. In addition, the booth held a show starring South American Twitch and Youtube influencers, gaining even more popularity among the participants.

BDO was officially released in South America back in July and is continuing its success. A lot of people visited the game’s booth at the BGS 2017, and BDO saw its popularity in South America during the event.

“We believe that the BGS 2017 was a meaningful event where we could directly communicate with BDO’s playerbase in South America. We are proud of ourselves that BDO is also successful in the other side of the Earth, and also feel more responsible. We will provide our fans in South America with the best game and will repay their supports.” said Jin-Yong Heo, the Chief Operating Officer at Pearl Abyss.

“We are glad that we became the best online game publisher in South Africa since the launch of BDO. We want the BGS 2017 to be an another opportunity for us to be successful in the South American game market,” added Kyung-Wan Son, the CEO of RedFox Games. He also added that RedFox Games will make BDO the most popular in South America with more advanced management and localization.

BDO first launched in South Korea in December 2014, and has expanded its service to about 100 countries/region including Japan, Russia, North America, Europe, Taiwan, and South America. The game has more than 2 million registered players in North America and Europe, and was selected as the best MMORPG by MMORPG.com last year. As a successful global IP, BDO is now trying to expand the game’s platforms to mobile and console.

Pearl Abyss has started the pre-order for BDO in Turkey and MENA in last September, and is planning to provide its own services to Southeast Asian countries like Thailand.
