Nexon (co-CEOs Kang Dae-hyun and Kim Jung-wook) announced on the 23rd that it has revealed its summer update roadmap and upcoming events through an '8th Anniversary & Summer Update' video for its authentic online soccer game, 'EA SPORTS FC Online' (hereinafter 'FC Online').
The video features Nexon Business Team Leader Lee Dong-heum alongside EA Korea PDs Jang Jae-chang and Jeon Woo-hwan, who introduced new content scheduled for release between April and July, as well as various improvements and 8th anniversary events.
April will see updates focused on improving user convenience, including features for bulk-releasing unregistered players, removing multiple training coaches simultaneously, and deleting up to 150 items at once. Two new classes will be introduced: the 'WG (Warriors of Glory)' class, featuring legendary players who left a lasting mark on the global stage, and the 'KHD (Korea Heroes Debut)' class, which highlights the debut-year performances of 11 iconic South Korean players.
In May, the 'KICK-OFF Mode' will be updated to allow anyone to jump straight into a match without needing to configure a squad, enhancing accessibility for new and existing users alike. Additionally, a 'Player Raising' feature—where users select a player to train and develop through matches—will be introduced as exclusive content for 'FC Online M' (mobile), offering the player's mini face-on as a reward. Furthermore, to celebrate the 8th anniversary of 'FC Online', the 'TK (Team Korea) class' will be released, consisting of players who have represented South Korea in eight international tournaments.
In June, when the global international football tournament takes place, we will revamp the 'Squad Maker' to allow for pre-tournament team building and introduce four new traits. First, the 'Squad Maker' will be expanded beyond formation and player selection to include team and individual tactics as well as training coach settings. It will also add features to import squad information from other managers and a community 'Squad Feed.' New traits will include 'Trickster,' which enhances skill move performance, and 'Laser Shooter,' which triggers a lower, faster shot trajectory when immediately shooting a ball coming from the opposite direction of the attack, providing a fresh gameplay experience. In July, we will add a new 'Master' rank between World Class and Challenger in 1vs1 official matches, and overhaul the overall ranking system by adjusting promotion difficulty and introducing relegation matches for the Challenger tier and above.
Nexon is hosting a variety of events to celebrate the 8th anniversary of 'FC Online.' Users who participate in the '8th Anniversary Homecoming' pre-registration event by May 27 will receive a squad consisting of 11 'KHD class' players at +8 enhancement level and can view their personal records from the past eight years. New and returning users who complete eight days of attendance will receive a non-tradable +8 'KHD' player, with additional rewards for playing three matches per day. Through June 10, the popular 'DIY Event' will offer chances to obtain up to +11 player packs, and the '8th Anniversary Festival Burning' event will run from May 1 to May 5, offering generous rewards such as a '50% Fee Discount Coupon.
