Cygames (CEO Koichi Watanabe) announced on the 20th that player 'Beita' won the 'Shadowverse Korea Open 2026 Season 1' (SKO 2026 Season 1), the official esports tournament for 'Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond.'
The finals for 'SKO 2026 Season 1' were held offline without an audience on the 19th and were broadcast live via the official 'Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond' YouTube channel and the official Cygames Chzzk channel.
In the quarterfinals, 'Beita' faced 'Nistia,' 'Omega' played 'Misari,' 'Coconadan' took on 'GodRelD,' and 'Flower' competed against 'Japangi.' Each match showcased high-level play as participants utilized diverse deck compositions and strategies.
In the first semifinal match, 'Beita' defeated 'Omega' after a battle of intricate strategies, while in the second match, 'Japangi' secured a spot in the finals after a tense, hard-fought contest against 'Coconadan'.
The final was a nail-biting showdown between 'Beita' and 'Japangi,' characterized by stable play and strategic maneuvering. 'Beita' maintained composure throughout the match to win 2-1, taking home the ₩10 million prize and securing a spot as the Korean representative for the international tournament.
Winner 'Beita' remarked, "I am happy to see such a great result after waiting a long time for this victory. I consider being a Shadowverse pro a great honor, especially knowing that so many people are watching our matches." He added, "Although there were some aspects of today's performance I wasn't satisfied with, I will strive to show even better form in the future, regardless of the outcome."
The winner of this season will represent Korea at the 'Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2026,' an international tournament held in Japan this December, where they will compete for a grand prize of 100 million JPY (approximately ₩935 million).
Meanwhile, 'SKO 2026 Season 2' is scheduled for October, with further details regarding participation and rewards to be announced later on the official website.
