Roblox announced on the 10th (U.S. local time) that it is launching a new subscription plan, 'Roblox Plus,' to provide users with more benefits. Launching globally on April 30, Roblox Plus will be priced at $4.99 (USD) per month and offer discounts on in-game items and avatar purchases, along with exclusive perks.
Through Roblox Plus, the company aims to provide creators with expanded revenue opportunities. To this end, Roblox will fully cover the cost of discounts provided to subscribers. Furthermore, by enabling subscribers to purchase more items with the same amount of Robux, the platform supports creators in maintaining their existing sales revenue while potentially generating additional income from increased purchasing activity.
Enrico D'Angelo, Vice President of Economy at Roblox, stated, "We are constantly exploring new ways to provide more value to our global community. Roblox Plus is designed to reward our most engaged users as the platform grows, while helping creators continue to scale their earnings. By offering purchase discounts and differentiated benefits, Roblox Plus helps users get more out of their Robux while directly supporting the creators who are building the Roblox ecosystem."
■ Introduction to Roblox Plus Features
□ Discount Benefits: Subscribers receive a 10% discount on in-game purchases and avatar items. Maintaining a continuous subscription for three months or longer increases the discount rate to 20%, rewarding long-term members.
□ Private Server Access: Subscribers can use unlimited private servers for any game that supports their age group at no additional cost. Users can freely choose who they play with in these private servers, while creators continue to earn revenue.
□ Free Robux Transfers: Subscribers can transfer Robux to other users on the platform without fees. For safety, users aged 18 and under must obtain parental or guardian approval for every transaction. Users aged 19 and older must complete an age verification process before sending or receiving Robux.
□ Marketplace Benefits: Subscribers can trade and resell avatar items, as well as list and sell their own creations on the Roblox Marketplace.
Subscribers will receive an exclusive Roblox Plus badge on their profile, with additional features and benefits to be rolled out sequentially after the official launch. Additionally, Roblox plans to introduce an automatic monthly Robux top-up feature, allowing users to conveniently bundle their subscription and recurring Robux purchases into a single payment.
■ Roblox Plus and Platform-Wide Creator Support
Roblox Plus is designed to benefit both users and creators. By integrating with the subscription plan, creators gain new opportunities to generate revenue.
□ Robux Purchases: When subscribers receive discounts on in-game items, avatars, or Robux products, Roblox covers the full cost of the discount. This ensures creators maintain the same level of revenue they would have received from individual purchases, while encouraging subscribers to spend their Robux across a wider range of items and services, potentially increasing overall earnings.
□ Paid Private Servers: Eligible creators can earn rewards when Roblox Plus subscribers spend time in their paid private servers.
□ Bonus Robux: Creators can integrate a new API into their games to allow users to subscribe to Roblox Plus directly within the game. Roblox will reward creators with additional monthly Robux for each new subscriber acquired through this method for up to three months.
This update is designed to help creators who are scaling their teams and building businesses on the Roblox platform secure a stable source of income.
With the addition of Roblox Plus, Roblox will no longer offer new subscriptions to Roblox Premium. Existing Premium members can maintain their memberships, and a one-month Roblox Plus trial will be added to their current subscription period. Additionally, starting May 30, some Premium benefits, such as the 10% bonus on additional Robux purchases and the Premium profile badge, will be discontinued.
■ New AI Agentic Features

Meanwhile, Roblox has unveiled agentic AI technology that allows users to implement game development requirements with a single prompt. Creators can now describe their creative ideas, and Roblox's AI assistant will act as a collaborative development partner, accelerating the entire process from planning and development to testing. This enables creators to scale their development process more flexibly and launch their ambitious games faster.
□ Planning Support: The newly introduced Planning Mode breaks down complex prompts into editable, individual tasks. When a creator describes their game concept, Planning Mode segments the necessary steps, refines details based on feedback, and implements them.
□ Development Support: Procedural Model Generation allows creators to generate objects that naturally scale and adjust to fit their environment. For example, when modifying an AI-generated bookshelf, instead of simply stretching the shape, the AI now understands the object's structure and automatically adds or adjusts books and shelves to fit the new size. This makes modifying and editing worlds much easier. This feature will be introduced soon.
□ Testing Support: New AI Playtesting agents analyze code and data, using avatars to test games like real players to help ensure the game functions as the developer intended.
