[G-Star 2019] G-Star Concluded Successfully with 240K+ Visitors

 

The international game exhibition, G-Star 2019, was concluded with 244,309 visitors over four days.

 

G-Star 2019, which was hosted by K-GAMES and was run by G-Star and Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, was held in Busan BEXCO from the 14th to 17th of November (KST). This event featured many popular games and games with high expectations in the industry to draw attention from fans.

 

SuperCell who participated as the main sponsor showed off their game, Brawl Stars, to stand as one of the main pillars of G-Star 2019.

 

Peral Abyss participated by presenting four new games, which were streamed live around the world. Their games were DokeV, Plan 8, Crimson Desert, and Shadow Arena. They communicated with users with many experience zones and events.

 

Netmarble put up A3: Still Alive to gain attention, and featured 30-man battle royale and 3-man squad for the first time as well.

 

The esports programs at this year’s G-Star had positive reactions from the fans. Many fans participated in the Brawl Stars World Finals. The Busan University esports club competition was also held in the outdoors event square.

 

Cosplay Awards, Cosplay Experience, Creator talk show, streamer busking show, etc programs were also held. There was also the first ‘G-Star Indie Showcase’ where 29 indie developers participated after evaluation for a booth at the scene. The game investment market, which was held for medium-small businesses had 35 developers, 5 investors, 19 publishers participating and had around 110 counsels for investments. In the game job fair, Neowiz, Pearl Abyss, NHN Starfish, Rovio, Next Games, etc. participated and 1,053 job seekers visited for interviews, and to talk about their careers.

 

Over the four days, a total of 244,309 people visited. There were about a total of 3.9% more people compared to last year which had 235,133 participants. In the BTB exhibition, there were a total of 2,436 buyers compared to last year’s 2,169, which was 12.3% more.

 

The G-CON which was expanded a lot more than last year had 34 sessions (4 keynote speeches, 30 normal speeches) had 4,733 participants during the two days and stood strong as one of the main events of G-Star.F

 

In this conference, Jenova Chen, CEO of Thatgamecompany, Igarashi Koji of Castlevania, Hilmar Patterson of CCP Games who developed EVE Online, Janos Gaspar and Powell Wojs of Total War: Three Kingdoms, Shift Up’s Kim Hyeong-tae, and Yang Yeong-soon of webtoon Denma etc participated with diverse topics.
