Fortnite has rolled out its latest crossover event, this time with Star Wars, in commemoration of the release of Jedi: Fallen Order, the newest Star Wars video game.

Jedi: Fallen Order was developed by Respawn Entertainment, creator of Apex Legends, and published by Electronic Arts (EA). The accompanying Fortnite crossover features the arrival of the Imperial army to the island. The Imperial Stormtrooper skin is available in the Item Shop, and for gamers who purchase and download Fallen Order from the Epic Games Store, the skin is free!

The skin was revealed in an tweet from the official Fortnite account that featured a cinematic video of Stormtroopers scouting the island in Fortnite Chapter 2. When some of the familiar Fortnite squad discovers they're being spied upon, things begin to escalate:

The last major Fortnite crossover was with Batman, which featured a standard skin of the caped crusader as well as a Dark Knight-inspired version from the 2008 film of the same name. A cat-woman skin was also included in the event, but the main attraction was the metamorphosis of Tilted Town into Gotham City.

One of Fortnite's greatest strengths is its ability to blur the line between real and virtual in its community, and breaking the fourth wall through universal crossovers with mainstream media is a massive factor in the game's success in both endemic and non-endemic spaces.
