Smash major Genesis 6 will be taking place in Oakland. The event will take place from February 1st to February 3rd and will take place in the Paramount Theater.
Genesis 6 will be the first supermajor to feature Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in a competitive setting. Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros., Rivals of Aether, and Splatoon 2 will also be featured, with all but the latter boasting both singles and doubles brackets.
Free arcade and rhythm games will also be available to play, and the venue is open 24 hours a day both Friday and Saturday. In addition to games, artists and vendors will be setting up in the Paramount Theater. Attendees with a spectator pass will be granted access to a series of side games on Saturday: Slap City, Dance Dance Revolution, Magical Drop 3, and Windjammers.
As in previous years, top competitors from all over the world will gather to compete. Among them is Alliance's Adam "Armada" Lindgren, who recently announced his retirement from Super Smash Bros. Melee singles. Cloud9's Joseph "Mang0" Marquez, Panda Gaming's Justin "Plup" McGrath TSM's William "Leffen" Hjelte, Team Liquid's Juan "Hungrybox" Debeidma, and Echo Fox's Jason "Mew2King" Zimmerman will also be entering.
