JAG UmTi: "It was so hard to stop myself from crying. I’m very sensitive these days, so I become highly emotional. I became emotional in game 3 after thinking that we’d win."

On the 31st of July (KST), Jin Air Green Wings defeated Griffin 2:1. Jin Air’s jungler, UmTi was subbed in on game 2 and delivered concrete performance alongside with their mid laner Grace.

The following is the interview with UmTi.

How do you feel towards today’s victory?

I’m happy that we won an important match. The regular season is almost over and I’d like to show everything I can do.

Your matchup was against the first place team Griffin.

Honestly, our scrim results weren’t good and we didn’t have any special strategy prepared as well. I tried to change my mindset and I believe this gave a positive impact. I thought, about taking care of my mentality and to team up with my teammates.

Justice and KaKAO were in the starting lineup.

I underperformed these days, so that’s why they came out as the starters. We decided to sub me and Grace in if they lose game 1.

What were your thoughts on Tarzan’s performance in game 1?

As I was preparing on the bench, I examined Tarzan’s plays. He was good but I thought he wasn’t exceptional like his past games. As a jungler, I found some mistakes and thought that I’ll have to make use of those mistakes.

On game 2, Tarzan used, a rather surprising, Elise jungle pick.

At first, I was afraid that Jayce and Elise would go top and jungle. However, I felt more comfortable after seeing Mundo was picked as top. SoHwan could have been pressured but he managed to sustain.

The team only gave away a single kill and didn’t give away any Rift objectives in game 2; it was a huge victory. What were your predictions on game 3?

We played well using our pick & bans in game 2. Since pick & bans are always different, I thought that we’d win game 3 as long as we can put in our best efforts.

How did you feel after the team was on an advantage in game 3?

It was so hard to stop myself from crying. (laughs) I’m very sensitive these days, so whether I’m happy or sad, I become highly emotional. I became emotional in game 3 after thinking that we’d win.

You’ll face some tough teams in your next 3 matches. How are you going to prepare?

There are so many teams that are better than us. Although we are thought of as an underdog, I’m going to do my best and display everything I can. It’d be good to win, but if we lose, I want to lose without regrets.

Any last remarks?

I want to thank my fans. We are rather low in standings. I’m going to do my best to avoid playing in the demotion match.
