Korean Reactions to 2018 Worlds at Korea: "The students that are taking KSAT this year are having a hard time."

On the 26th of February, the information on the global competitions of 2018 League of Legends was revealed. The countries that are holding each major competition starting from the first international competition, Mid Season Invitational (MSI) to the All-Stars Event (ASE) etc. were revealed.

The most important competition, World Championship will be held in Korea. Many Korean fans are in delight with the first big event after 2014, and talking wildly about the competition.

Some fans who experienced the 2014 competition mention the regretful things at that time and some are worried that a Korean team might not be able to win, even with the home court advantage. However, most fans are looking forward to the competition itself.

Today, we collected the reactions of fans on Korean communities about this announcement.

▷ Worlds at Korea again!

└ So this year is Korea, since last year was China.

└ My prediction from last year was correct.

└ I’m going no matter what. LCK Fighting!

└ Woooow! Awesome! I’m so happy. I need to start scheduling from now.

└ I’m going this time.

└ Gazuaa!!

▷ I bought a Diamond-grade ticket at the 2014 finals, thinking I won’t have any more chances for that, but 4 years have passed, LoL is more popular and it’s in Korea again!

└ I bought a Gold, I think it’ll be harder to get tickets. TT

▷ It seems like they will use the new LCK stadium that Riot is building. The best way to start off a new stadium, and I think they said it’ll open in September.

└ That’s too small for Worlds. It doesn’t even have 1000 seats.

└└ Well, maybe not for finals, but for play-ins or group stage?

└└ If it opens in September, the preliminaries can be held there, but to think of it, I think the preliminaries will be held somewhere else, if the finals are held at Seoul.

└ It’s not even 1000 seats, may be for play-ins.

└ When they started building it, the already had said that they’ll find another place for finals.

└ Worlds is an event that really pays off, they won’t use a 1000-seat stadium. Think about the crowd attendance, the number of tickets they can sell.

▷ I don’t wanna go to Seoul. Come to Busan!

└ I think it will be in both cities.

└ Daegu too, please.

└└ If Busan is one, Daegu is out already.

▷ S**t! I have the KSAT this year!

└ This is so depressing to be in 12th grade.

└ Go and study.

└ I’ll go if I get a job… Probably won’t be able to.

└ I’ll ask for a vacation.

▷ It’s good that it’s being held in Korea, but I’m anxious that it might be the year that a Korean team won’t be able to win. If we aren’t able to win at home….

└ The Ardent Censer meta is over, it doesn’t matter.

└ Without the Ardent Censer, I don’t think there will be any teams that can follow Korea teams’ macro. I don’t think any LCS team can beat even ROX.

▷ I’m going this year! I don’t want to regret like last time!

└ Yay! I really really really really wanna go.

▷ Pyeongchang Winter Olympics was quite successful, compared to all the worries about it. I believe Worlds will be successful. Korean teams fighting!

└ Will they use the stadiums in Pyeongchang as well? Anyway, I’m really looking forward to it.

▷ I can’t believe it. In 2014, they said the whole schedule was in Korea, but it wasn’t. I won’t believe it until the whole schedule is revealed.

└ The 2014 competition was s**t. The line wasn’t proper, employees stole skin codes and sold it online. The management was so bad, I don’t have any high expectations. Diamond seats had their own entrance line but the others were all mixed up.

└└ That’s true. There were so many people selling stuff in joonggonara.

└└ From what I remember, the seats were from silver to diamond and I think the entrance should be divided by silver-gold and platinum-diamond. It’s too tough for silver-gold-platinum entering in just one entrance. And I remember getting skin coupons. Some people even took three. I wish that gets better this year.

▷ I wish the competitions goes around all cities, like Play-ins at Gwang-ju, top 16 at Daejon, quarterfinals at Busan and Semifinals and Finals at Seoul.

└ Make a stadium first.

└ Why not Daegu?

└ The preliminary might be held in North Korea LOL.

└└ It won’t be co-hosting with North Korea would it?

▷ 4 years ago, it was really hard because of the illegal ticket brokers. Some people received multiple skin coupons. I saw everything last time, work properly this year.

▷ The students that are taking KSAT this year are having a hard time. Olympics ended, World Cup is coming and then it’s Worlds. ROFL.

└ 12th graders are crying.

└ There’s Asian Game too.

└ It’s the same as when I was in 12th grade. Sochi Winter Olympics, Brazil World Cup, Korea Worlds.

▷ Isn’t it better for the foreign teams because Worlds is at Korea? They don’t need to go from boot camp here to the country that is holding Worlds, they can just stay here.

▷ It was really good when I went to Worlds 4 years ago. The games weren’t very fun because Samsung really dominated everything, but the atmosphere and the fact that Korea won was so satisfying. I heard everyone shouting Faker while they undergraded Pawn, and Mata said “I want to stop” so everyone was surprised because they thought he was retiring. I was really sad because I wasn’t able to buy Ahri Nendoroid. I saw the match, the Imagine Dragons Concert and heard Warriors live, and the fireworks on the last day was awesome. It was a happy day for me, the next day was my first day at work, but I was just happy. Back at home, I played LOL wearing a summoner’s robe.

└ Imagine Dragons concert, I’m so jealous.

└ Playing LOL wearing a summoner’s robe lol

└ I wasn’t much interested in LOL back then, but I wanna go this year.
