Overwatch League Team Floria Mayhem recruits Zappis from Team Gigantti

The Florida Mayhem has announced that the team has added Joonas “Zappis” Alakurtti as their off tank.

Zappis is a flex player who is capable of playing different characters, including Zarya and Tracer. He used to be the core member of the triple tanks in team NiP and team RiP and showed great performances in many Overwatch tournaments in Europe. Zappis was also a member of Team Gigantti, a team that won in the Europe Contenders last year.

With Zappis joining the team, the Floria Mayhem will not have as short a roster anymore, which has been the team’s biggest problem. Zappis will be playing for the Florida Mayhem in the Overwatch League starting from Feb 21st, which is the day Stage 2 begins.

Overwatch League Teams have been able to sign free agents since Jan 22nd, and the smaller teams have been out searching for the right players to add to their roster. The free agency period and the trade window will end on April 3rd, which is the day before Stage 3 commences. Rosters will remain unchanged for the rest of the season and for the playoffs.
