Ballistix wins the Heroes of the Storm Fall Championship

The semifinals and grand final of the 2016 Heroes of the Storm Fall Championship were played today. The first semifinal match featured one of the greatest upsets in Heroes of the Storm history, as Fnatic pulled off a dominating 3-1 victory against tournament favorites MVP Black. On the other side of the bracket, Korea’s first seed Ballistix shut down Team Dignitas’ valiant resistance 3-1.

Fnatic lost the first two games of the finals in quick succession and looked to be incapable of taking down a second Korean behemoths. Yet the Swedes pulled back when a clean sweep loomed on the horizon: in Game 3, Fnatic brought the series to 1-2 with their sheer determination and a string of inspired individual plays. Ballistix were able to close out the grand finals in Game 4, however, to become the 2016 Heroes of the Storm world champions.
